His One

a Fullmetal Alchemist ficNotes: This is a drabble I wrote for a 15 minute writing challenge. Don't mind any mistakes please. =_=;; It's entirely uneditted. After all, I only have 15 minutes and I'm not a particularly fast writer.
They met each other in the midst of battle, anguished to discover they stood on opposite sides of the war. However, they made a wordless promise to the other that should both of them make it through the chaos and strife, they would seek the other out and finally be together.
And so they fought for peace, toiled and bled for it until serenity was finally restored in the world. Remembering their promise to each other, they left the peace celebrations for the place they first set eyes upon each other.
When he arrived, he saw the signs of their previous battle were still apparent as there had been no time to repair the damages. But either way, it served only to remind him of the little time they spent together.
Like the day he first fought against the other, the heavens opened up to christen the earth with its gentle touch. As he waited impatiently for the other, the rain coming down in sheets, his heart started beating frantically. What if his one failed to remember their promise? Or worse yet, what if they had died in the war?
A lean form stepped away from the shadows. For a moment, he felt time stop, locking them in a place all their own. He quickly walked over and stood, fidgeting slightly.
The other gave him a tentative upward twitch of their lips. "You remembered..."
"Good memory has been passed down in the family for generations. I would never forget you, Scar!" Pink sparkles suddenly ran rampant and a uniform top was discarded.
And then, they were in each other's arms, together at last.
